Great juice recipes and interesting plan

The first 10% is the author giving you solid answers to the likely excuses you are throwing out there as to why you can't or aren't doing something to better your health. The next questions, why 5 days? I love the answer. If you binge on junk food for 5 days, say like over the holidays, and you feel like total crap when it's over, the opposite is also true, treat yourself great for 5 days and you will feel better! There are 2 options to the 5 day reboot - juice or juice + dinner. The author then goes through how to set yourself up to succeed, how to prep your kitchen, make a shopping list and get ready to go. The recipes themselves are very varied as far as flavor goes. I don't personally care for some of them but others were great. The book then goes into how to move forward after the 5 days, so you aren't reverting back to your old ways and includes lots of transition recipes. There's a great FAQ section at the end and an index so you can quickly find recipes or reference certain sections. While I know this specific plan is not for me, there is a lot of great information about juicing here and I love to juice. I have an Omega juicer that works great and even the kids love to get involved. I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Short, Simple, and To The Point. A Great Reboot!

Juice It to Lose It begins like his other books as he shares his own wake up call moment which changed his life for the better. What's great about what comes next is Joe breaks down the excuses we give for ourselves, the waiting game we play with ourselves while we end up gaining more weight instead of losing it. He tells us why these excuses are invalid before telling us the benefits of the 5 day reboot that's ahead in the book.
Once you get on board, I like that he lays out a plan for a 5 day reboot where you only consume fruits and vegetables as juices all day, each day and a modified version where you consume fruit and vegetables as juices for breakfast and lunch while eating a plant based dinner.
He also lays out the difference between blending and juicing (I'm more of a blender myself though that's only because I don't currently have a juicer), bottled juice and fresh juice, buying cost effective fruits and vegetables for the reboot, customizing your reboot for health conditions (diabetes, thyroid conditions, allergies), and what to expect from your body which I think a lot of people will especially appreciate.
What I really loved was the prep work for before the reboot...transitioning into the reboot by (one example) refraining from junk food, white flour, sugar, desserts and fried food during the week before the reboot. So it's not like on the day before the reboot, you're stuffing yourself with as much fast food as possible because you think you can never have it again. It's a transition and it's not going to be easy at first but it will be worth it and we are all worth it even when we do go off course. The key is not to stay off course.
So here comes the reboot! First, there's the ingredients list. It looks daunting but having done a different cleanse myself to reboot my system (a 10 day smoothie cleanse) I can say that shopping for the reboot is so much fun. Then comes a an intro for each day, the recipes you, and a very timely tip for each day (yay! I love tips!).
Once this very important bulk is set, there's life after the reboot which is not going back in full force to what you just rebooted yourself out of. You will transition into the reboot, but that's just the beginning of the transition of your health, so Joe provides healthy eating tips for life after the reboot, encouragement on maintaining those habits, transition recipes (juices, salads, soups, and more), and finally, a handy dandy FAQ to close out the guide.
So all in all, this is a really great book for anyone looking for a reboot. That said, if you've read The Reboot With Joe Cross Juice Diet, there's no need to read this book. His first book covers a 30 day reboot while this book is more concise with a 5 day reboot but since it covers life after the reboot and more recipes, I'd say this book alone is just fine. Short, simple, and to the point. I'd go so far as to say that this is the book from Joe that I've been waiting for. I'm more of a blender myself but when I'm ready to juice, I know which of Joe's books I'll be re-reading!

Good read even if you're an intermediate juicer like me. This book is more for beginners who don't know where to start with juicing. Step-by-step guide and directions are easy to follow.
