Intense Obsessed Love!

We all want something sometime that you can't have. We all dream once in a while of someone to love you that is rich and obsessed. If so then this is the book for you. Fall in love with the Beth & Daniel as they find their way to each other and rationalize all of their crazy behaviors. Daniel is great boyfriend, who wanted to make me slap him to open his eyes at some points and then have him tie me up in others! The crazy and intense way he loves Beth, makes you want him to love you like that. I loved the writing and the characters that were included. These characters help to give the book details that helped you understand their pain, love and the ultimate price. I could not wait to read book three in the triology. Loved it!

I'm sittiing here trying to write this review with tears running down my face. I have so many emotions tossing aroused my head that this will sound like I haven't lost my mind! I didn't think it was possible for the second book to be better! So wrong! We continue right where the first book left us which I loved. Daniel and Bethany have so many trust issues that just when you think their love for each other is stronger than anything that comes their way trouble once again rears its. Ugly self and choices are made that breaks your heart. I am so happy the complete trilogy is available.I couldn't survive waiting! If you haven't bought the first book do not read this first. If you like a great adult story that has the hottest love scenes then get this now this is my first time reading Dee Palmer and it will not be my last!

Always a choice.. I certainly had no choice reading this book! So amazing!

I honestly don't even know where to begin... It was a struggle to even write a review before I started on the third one.. I just finished the book and I'm dying with the way it ends... I won't spoil it for anyone but it was hard not to dive into the next one! Once again I'm sucked into Bethany and Daniel and some of his dumb decisions that make you want to punch him but swoon at the same time. It's honestly hard to believe how much I love these characters and want to be in the book with them, maybe smack some sense into them both! It has such an amazing story line and I CAN NOT wait to see where it goes next.. I can't get enough of Daniel. I'm off now to dive right into the next one! Read these books, you'll be happy you did!

This book is a good introductory book for strategic reading

This book is a good introductory book for strategic reading. I love the activities and suggested dialogue I can use to teach reading strategies to my first grade students. However, I was hoping for Tanny to go into the subject with a little more in depth. I guess I should have read the description more carefully--the book is incredibly thin! Like I said before, it's a great book to get a teacher, especially new teachers, started. What's helpful is that Tanny gives a list of suggested books for further reading at the end of each section.

Excellent teaching tools!

I loved this book! I devoured it on a camping trip--a place where I usually avoid work related reading--and found myself planning lessons and how I could incorporate these ideas and lessons into out mandated, less-than-stellar, curriculum. I did my first lesson, and the kids really enjoyed it. The concrete object lesson seemed to really resonate with them.

Book is missing a page!

The book I received is missing pages 105 and 106 from the chapter titled "Synthesizing." By the time I realized it was too late to return or exchange it. The information the book provides is very practical. I know for certain that I will use the strategies discussed in my classroom. However, I would like to get the book with the full amount of pages.

This edition, like all in the series, contains substantial supplementary material, including a historical introduction, entries from Kierkegaard's journals and papers, and the preface and conclusion of the original novel.

SKs strongest defense of the individual against society.

What begins as a critique of Gyllembourg's "Two Ages" developes into Kierkegaard's most powerful examination of the confrontation between individuality and society. Chapter Three is, as far as I know, THE definitive existentialist manifesto of human individuality and its constant battle against being swallowed up by the mindlessness of modern culture. In a critique that is especially applicable in today's culture of mass media, body-babble and relationship-babble, Kierkegaard shows how conscious individuality is drained out of the individual by chatter and leveling. When the innermost private matters of the individual become public, then individuality loses its meaning, human consciousness collpases, and we have "the present age... relaxing in indolence." This is nowhere more clearly seen that in the present-day "talk shows", where the innermost private matters of the individual are bared for public consumption with all the tact of a street corner flasher. Kierkegaard's analysis, over 150 years old, is more relevant than ever in today's culture. If you are sick of hearing about "relationships", this book is a must. It is worth every penny, and may well be the most important book you will ever read.

So, you could not be scared to bring this book Thievery (Akron Series In Poetry), By Seth Abramson almost everywhere you go. Merely include this sot data to your device or computer disk to let you review each time as well as almost everywhere you have time.

Here is a book that is truly quietly deeply subtle. It appears to operate along the lines of here is how one thing follows another; it appears to rely on anticipated cause and effect to spring us forth from one fraction of a split second’s thought to the next. There are many and then actions in this book. What follows comes as a surprise sometimes even when it shouldn't. For instance, at one poem’s conclusion it says: An archer shoots. That’s what an archer does. And this is astonishing. About the Author
A graduate of Dartmouth College, Harvard Law School, and the Iowa Writers' Workshop, Seth Abramson is the author of two previous collections of poetry, Northerners (Western Michigan University Press, 2011), winner of the 2010 Green Rose Prize from New Issues Poetry & Prose, and The Suburban Ecstasies (Ghost Road Press, 2009). Presently a doctoral candidate (ABD) in English Literature at University of Wisconsin-Madison, Series Co-Editor for Best American Experimental Writing (forthcoming from Omnidawn in 2014), and a contemporary poetry reviewer for The Huffington Post, he has published work in numerous magazines and anthologies, including Best New Poets (University of Virginia Press, 2008), Poetry of the Law (University of Iowa Press, 2010), AGNI, American Poetry Review, Boston Review, Colorado Review, Harvard Review, jubilat, New American Writing, and Poetry. In 2008, he was awarded the J. Howard and Barbara M. J. Wood Prize by Poetry.

A quiet insistence that transports mind and spirit

Whatever your understanding of spirit - ephemera, igniting force, divine guidance - these pages go there.

This poetry eludes me even as it grabs me by the throat:

I mean the small strummed cord
in the slit in your back.
The shape of the thing that crushes you.

I am not ready to say why it is important to me, but I will tell you I have read it twice through and once more just opening it page by page.

reveals the reader to himself as if for the first time

Seth Abramson is a superb modern poet. Deservedly, his poetry appears in many fine journals. And he proven a champion of modern poetry and MFA programs in superbly written essays that can easily be researched on the net. Seth is the real things. I've carefully followed his work since a friend pointed out a poem of his in Poetry magazine. I included several of his poems in an anthology I edited called The Poets' Guide to New Hampshire. So, if you're inclined to question praise, there are my disclaimers.

His new book, Thievery, is a strong successor to Suburban Ecstasies and Northerners. Suburban Ecstasies, as the title might hint, was a gorgeous paean to language at its most opulent, its most gorgeous, its most generous. Northerners followed with a book that demonstrated Abramson's virtuosity in several argots, from that of the down-and-outs he might have represented in his days as a public defender in Manchester NH to the academic elite he rubs shoulders with in pursuit of his calling. Thievery, in turn, is a rich exploration of colloquial speech, with a Shakespearian sort of twist. The poems here ennoble the common man, elevate what he has to say and how he says it, to the level of earnest discourse. Ultimately, it all boils down to what it means to be human, how to fill the great gap of time between birth and death, and how to meet the causal and accidental challenges encountered along the way. Abrahmson has a keen ear for the music in speech. The reader is often carried along on a wave of energy that helps him follow the larger meaning of a monologue or a dialogue as it folds over and over itself.

I can only add that, on many occasions, while reading individual poems in this book (and immediately re-reading them), I recognized myself on very specific occasions in my life. I'm still trembling from reading "The Fire Door." What a surprise! And how precisely Seth's craft accomplishes exactly what poetry is supposed to do when it is at its best: reveal the reader to himself as if for the first time.
