Sure, the tools and tactics may evolve, but if you really look under the hood, you'll find several factors that have always powered the link between musicians, self-expression, fans, popularity, and ultimate success as an artist.

For the purposes of this book, I am calling these factors "Laws." After decades of intimate involvement with the topic, I consider them to be the foundational, undeniable principles that govern music marketing.

These laws were in effect decades ago, they are alive and well today, and they will continue to influence musicians, songwriters, bands, and fans for decades to come.

Why Obey These Laws?
In a world filled with ever-changing options, I find it comforting to know there are some things I can always count on. I may not know what the hot new website or app will be six months from now, but I can be certain that when that shiny new thing pops up, I'll have a good idea how to use it. Why? Because I have at my disposal a set of rock-solid principles to guide me.

I often use the topic of weight loss to illustrate this point. There have been many times in my life when I've felt confused and overwhelmed about what to eat and how to exercise. There are so many books, programs, experts, and options out there on the subject. The sheer magnitude of choices often keeps me from taking any action whatsoever.

Perhaps you've felt the same way at some point in your life.
However, years ago I realized a simple, timeless principle related to healthy living that helped me immensely. And I could sum it up in four words: "Eat less, move more."

For me, that became my weight-loss "law." Whenever I start to feel frustrated, I come back to this fundamental idea, which practically every weight-loss book, program or diet is built upon. When I stay focused on this underlying law, I maintain my balance and purpose.

I'll start by saying that I own all of Bob Baker's books. Why? Because he actually gives you practical information that you can apply right away. His content speaks to independent artists that are on a budget. And this book is a gem. Easy read, fast paced, wisely structured to remember the laws and overdelivers in value. It's the kind of book that you'll tell yourself "I always wondered that" or "I never knew artists put in effort into so many details". It's almost mind blowing.To any artist that needs real guidance for almost free, this is the book to buy.

I am a big fan of Bob Baker's music marketing books and his music as well. What I enjoyed most about this book and most of his books I read are his action steps that you can apply right away to improve your career. I resonated with all irrefutable laws of music marketing in this book and will get started applying them asap because I truly believe they will have a huge impact on my music career.

About the Author
Paul Reid is an award-winning journalist. In late 2003 his friend, William Manchester, in failing health, asked Paul to complete The Last Lion: Defender of the Realm. He lives in North Carolina.

Heavy Hardbacks bound in glue? Not worth half the price!

The content is top drawer for sure, but, for the price and weight of these heavy hardbacks one would expect they would not only be bound in stitches, but would have to be stitched out of necessity. They are not. These volumes have been bound in glue, not stitches. If they get too cold and are opened too soon they will crack. As they dry out (and they will) the spines will split and break. Pages will eventually fall out. If these books are studied and actually worked with, they will in short time, just fall apart. How many times have we found an excellent work such as this, that has been rendered difficult to handle and read with actual pages missing? And the creators of this obsolescence have the audacity to call it " perfect binding "! If this boxed set would be properly bound I would give 5 stars as the content is very well researched and written.

A Work of Art!

I read all three volumes between 9 February and 23 March, 2013 on my commute to and from the office daily. The three volume set is not a collection of books, words, or stories. It is a painting, an artistic account of the most important Politician and Statesman of the 20th century. The painting within these pages flows and weaves with the song of history, historical significance, humor, sadness, and laughter. The first two volumes I read went by faster than I had hoped. Once picking up the first book and reading the preamble then prologue provided the "setting" of the world in England as one little Winston S. Churchill would be born on 1874. The second volume I realized was finished much too soon - I simply could not put this book down. Periodically I was reading some MLB baseball MVP stories - I did this to hold fast those pages within "Last Lion" of information for pure rentive ability. I simply could not put either one of the three books down once I started. If you love detail this series is for you.

Any person interested in Churchill should read this series. Paul Reid did an excellent job with Volume III and I believe that William Manchester would be very proud of Mr. Reid's effort.

I would recommend that readers that have not before read anything by William R. Manchester that you consider reading "Goodbye Darkness" first, then maybe (time permitting and your schedule) "American Caesar: The Life of General Douglas MacArthur - 1880 to 1964". Reading these other books will give you a great introduction to William Manchester's writing style; we lost a legend when he passed away.

Outstanding Churchill biography

Extremely well written account of the life of Winston Churchill. The author doesn't fawn over Churchill; instead he points out the man's numerous faults and puts them in the context of the time. As an admitted Anglophile I relished the in depth history of England and the changes it went through during Churchill's lifetime. Life in a northern sea

This is a book based on the two-volume "The marine fauna of the British Isles and north-west Europe", but not simply an abridgment. It includes keys for identification, black-and-white plates and somewhat heavy text in the species presentations. It's intended for specialists, rather than the general public. The plates are somewhat unwieldy. Still, probably indispensable for a scientist stuck somewhere in the North Sea. Four stars.

Call me Master Adam

And it continues - in a good way. Adam & Grace are a very dramatic couple and on of the best ones I’ve read in a long time. I love the way their story is developing and growing. Every ending gets you closer to the edge leaving you wondering when am I going over?

When I first started I wondering if the endgame was going to include more than just the coming together of two very stubborn people. But now as I have read three stories I have come to realize that there is SO much more to them. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Ok, now about this book. Grace & Adam are trying to get past Grace's escape attempt and what happened on the beach. Adam is busy not only with his prisoner, but with family members who are trying to hurt him. But did you really think he would be able to be the head of one of the most powerful families in the world and not have people be jealous of him.

This book book has power challenges & old world sword fights along with modern day erotica. In this book FINALLY Master Adam is revealed and IT'S ABOUT TIME!!

Stellar third act.

Josie Litton continues with her wonderful story-telling with Chosen.
Grace and Adam are at a crossroads at this point. With what happened in the second part of this story, they are both wracked with emotions that counter act with the good and bad in their situation. The wall this builds between them is frustrating to see as the story progresses because you, the reader, can see the overall picture!
I love Josie's way of storytelling. In this third part, she expands on the world she's built, and introduces us to new characters. She provides an introductory of sorts to these individuals and makes you question what part they will play as the story continues to unfold.
I am looking forward to the build up now; the story is starting to reach a cliff where you don't know how everything will fall together, but, I trust Josie in putting it all together wonderfully.

Darkness equalls hot sizzling

I received this book in exchange for my honest review. yes Adam still has her held as a hostage but wont tell her why she is there all he says its about "family". They do feel something for each other and its strong but Grace was trying to get him to release her. Whenever they were together he would make a comment about she is undoing him. She was falling for him. The Cliffhanger on this one is she is trying to leave after she thought he passed out and that is where it leaves off
