A TOEFL teacher's opinion
By Matthew E. Owen
I am a TOEFL teacher, and in my opinion, on the whole, this is the best TOEFL prep book on the market today.

Strengths: The biggest strength of this book is the amount of practice. The book contains numerous practice exercises for each and every type of question. This puts it heads and shoulders above other books in that regard. If you have a weakness for listening inference questions, this is really the only book where you can flip the appropriate section and isolate that question type. There are dozens of exercises for each and every type of question. In addition to the individual question types, there are practices that combine two or three question types, as well as all question types, plus four full practice tests. It gets a big A+ for the sheer number of practice questions. Another strength of the book is that the information about question types and answer formats is, for the most part, quite accurate. It may be strange, but this is not necessarily the case for some of the other major TOEFL prep books. If you follow the instructions and examples in this book, you'll fare pretty well for the real test. Finally, this book has a detailed answer key that provides pretty good explanations of why a given answer is correct. In this regard, a book really can't compare to a teacher or tutor, but the Delta book does a good job.

Weaknesses: This book is not perfect. For one, some of the reading question types don't match up with the official ETS question types. Reference questions are inexplicably missing, and several other question types are renamed. The biggest weakness of the Delta book is that it is a little bit under level. While this is often a good thing for students who have never taken TOEFL or a TOEFL test before, the reality is that some of the readings and listenings and too simple to adequately recreate the test. Therefore, I recommend that you supplement the Delta book with material from another source, such as the Cambridge or Barron's book. Also, the book doesn't have a CD rom. It has all the audio tracks on a CD, but the CD rom would be useful.

Weighing many factors, the Delta book's quantity and quality of practice make it the best choice for self-study or a text for a TOEFL class. If you are able, I do encourage you to check out some other TOEFL books as well in order to maximize your preparedness for the exam.

Great book for student or teacher
By Janis H. Vergara
I teach English and TOEFL preparation in PerĂº, South America. I was looking for a book that would aid me in preparing my students for all parts of the TOEFL exam. I liked the style in which Delta's TOEFL IBT was written in a language that was not too difficult for a non-native English speaker to understand. The layout of the book, with its explanations of the various topics and subtopics, with many supporting examples and illustrations was just what I needed to be able to break down the various components of the TOEFL questions they might encounter. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is studying for the TOEFL or working with students who are.

Neil Josten is the newest addition to the Palmetto State University Exy team. He's short, he's fast, he's got a ton of potential—and he's the runaway son of the murderous crime lord known as The Butcher.

Signing a contract with the PSU Foxes is the last thing a guy like Neil should do. The team is high profile and he doesn't need sports crews broadcasting pictures of his face around the nation. His lies will hold up only so long under this kind of scrutiny and the truth will get him killed.

But Neil's not the only one with secrets on the team. One of Neil's new teammates is a friend from his old life, and Neil can't walk away from him a second time. Neil has survived the last eight years by running. Maybe he's finally found someone and something worth fighting for.

4.5 stars - a fascinating story
By Nikyta
Having just finished this, I must say that I'm sort of speechless. I'm not exactly sure what to say about this book. However, it's been a long time since I've felt the desire to stick with a story in one go and even longer since I've finished a book this long (82k+) in only a day.

With that said, there are a lot of warnings that should come with this book. For one, there is no romance in this one. In fact, I'd be hard pressed to even call it a gay novel because the main character is more asexual than anything. There are 'suggestions' and 'impressions' that this could turn into a gay romance but that could also be taken as the MCs just getting violent. But to those readers thinking they're picking up a young adult, new adult, whatever you want to call it, romance, you'll be sadly disappointed.

That out of the way, I'm extremely glad I read this. It might not be romance or m/m but I adored the characters and the journey I took with them. They're intense to say the least, psychotic and likely to fly off the handle bars but there was something about them that made me want to continue reading and find out where things were going. While I wouldn't say there's a huge cast of characters, there are more than the typical couple and a few side characters. The main contenders here are three guys: Neil, Andrew and Kevin. Neil is an asexual (kinda) who just wants to play Exy (which is like a sport that mixes lacrosse and ice hockey). He's a frightened kid but knows how crucial it is to lie low for fear of his father discovering where he is. Kevin is difficult to explain. He's mean and criticizes everything about Neil but at the same time, he's this lost soul who's been dealt just as crappy a hand as Neil has. Andrew is... psychotic. It's the only way to describe him. I don't understand how he became this way but he's got nothing to lose and he acts on that. He's five foot nothing but he's not afraid of staring down giants. He's amazing but scary and willing to keep everyone who he deems 'family' safe and right now that is Kevin.

The story follows Neil along as he gets accustomed to living in such an open place and playing the sport he loves. Immediately he has issues with Andrew and his gang (who are Neil's teammates) that makes his life difficult but he loves Exy enough to put up with the hostility from everyone. It's about the trials that Neil has to go through, the panic and fear he always has about being found out and being hunted again and the consequences he has to deal with when he makes his decisions regarding whether to stay or to run.

The only thing I didn't like about this book (aside from the lack of m/m romance, of course!) was how confused I was at times. The beginning will be hard to get through for some people because you're left wondering what is going on. You don't get the full back story for Neil or Kevin or even Andrew that really makes sense until well into the book so you're left wondering and probably saying WTF multiple times.

I feel that I should warn readers that this isn't exactly about the mafia either. While there's an undertone of it and even the threat of a yakuza pride descending on Neil and Kevin, it's not actually shown or very prominent in the story. Given that, I didn't much mind this because I felt like the whole book was focusing on second chances and Neil finally living a life, finding a home and standing up to his past. To do that, he needs Andrew and Andrew is willing to help him because of Kevin. It sort of seems like a love triangle but, like I said, this isn't romance. It is more of a bonding between these characters over a common issue.

To be honest, it's hard to explain this whole book because so much happens and is revealed that would spoiler the whole story if told. So, I'm going to leave it here. I enjoyed the novel. It has its issues but I found the whole thing fascinating and couldn't put the book down once I started. I liked that it wasn't saturated in sex but focused on such broken, and in Andrew's case, frightening characters. These characters are misfits, pure and simple and their attitudes and aggressions show that. It's a book of deceit, loyalty, dangerous situations and trust. It's not your traditional story but a gripping tale nonetheless and I'm really looking forward to seeing where the series goes from here and seriously how there's some m/m romance in the near future for Neil and Andrew!!

Seriously, if you want originality, flawed awesome characters, suspense... you have to read this one.
By Blaltimore Phil
Initially, skeptical after lately reading writers who barely could sustain my attention. I was caught off guard on this one. Usually, an author starts out well and finishes poorly or somewhere in between. Nora Sakavic has the uncanny talent to not let up and keep you totally absorbed in her simple yet complex tale.

Now, this is the type of work that goes beyond just a yarn about love interests. It delves deeply into various characters, damaged lives, malignant forces and unanswered questions . There's a connection with her creations. For me , this is a sign of a great writer who enchants the reader. I believe this author is on the level of writers such as TJ Klune, Scott Sherman, C.S Pacat. Admittedly, the genre is different but the ability to thoroughly engage the reader is the key.

Look , this is just a good story. It does have a gay character and questions about our main protagonist's preferences. However, it's not the primary story line. Don't look for erotic interludes here. However, if you are really looking for an entertaining, absorbing, suspenseful work look no further. Really, I doubt you will regret reading this one. I'm on my way to the next book. BTW some things are great even though inexpensive.

Love this intricate story - rare five star review
By Kevin Matthews
As I write this review, I've just finished the first two books of the ALL FOR THE GAME trilogy - and they're both excellent. Main and sub-characters are extremely well developed, and continue to grow through the series.

This is a story about a varied group of young adults (college age) who had somewhat (to horrifically) broken childhoods. They're misfits who are brought together through a sport, while continuing to encounter setbacks. As the relationships between the characters evolve, we slowly learn more about their past and how it has brought them to where they are.

The first two books contain several gay characters, but no M/M romance and no erotica of any type.

The two initial books are full-sized novels; presumably the third will be as well:
The Foxhole Court - 4058 locations
The Raven King - 5035 locations

The final book in the trilogy, The King's Men, is expected to be released in January, 2014 (according to a blog post by the author on Nov 15, 2013). These are not standalone books - readers will want to read them all, in order.

I complain a lot about eBook prices; this may be the first time I've ever suggested a price.increase. I purchased book one for free, and book two for $0.99. This seems too low given the high quality of the writing and story. Perhaps maintain the free price for book one, but sell books 2 and 3 for $3.99 or $4.99. I would happily pay that amount in return for this author's fine work.

Award-winning author Timothy Zahn pens the latest chapter in the stunning StarCraft saga, building on the game’s rich legacy to create an unforgettable new story.

After nearly a decade of brutal warfare, three mighty factions—the enigmatic protoss, the savage zerg, and the terrans, humanity’s descendants in the sector—have entered a cease-fire, but the peace is tenuous at best. When the sudden restoration of an incinerated planet is brought to light, tensions erupt. Neutrality swings back to hostility, and old enemies are accused of developing biological weapons to reignite the bitter conflict.

An expedition of terran and protoss soldiers and researchers is deployed to investigate the mysterious zerg planet and its inhabitants’ intentions. But the lush alien landscape is host to other denizens, creatures shrouded in shadow, and should they be unleashed, they will change the fate of the entire galaxy.

Chapter One

The war was over.

The nightmares weren’t.

Marine Sergeant Foster “Whist” Cray didn’t mind the dreams so much. Hell, he’d survived five straight years of living nightmares while he was deployed. He ought to be used to fear and panic by now.

What got him about the damn things was the monotony.

The war had been hell on wheels, but at least it had offered occasional changes of scenery. His platoon had been deployed to desert, jungle, forest, grassland, city—they weren’t so much cities as they were heaps of shattered masonry and twisted pipe by the time his platoon got there, but it still counted—and once even on a beach.

The enemy had been pretty diverse, too. He’d blasted away at zerglings, hydralisks, ravagers, and all the rest of the umpty-ump hell-spawned varieties of zerg. Sometimes the overlord or queen or whoever was running that particular assault sent in the nastier monsters, at which point the marines would grab some dirt while a viking or a Thor waded in to deal with them.

But even new enemies meant something different to look at. He’d seen a few protoss, too, usually on the far side of the battlefield where they weren’t doing the Dominion forces a whole lot of good. Once or twice he’d even ended up taking a potshot at one of them when the big alien had been careless enough to get in the way.

But the nightmares were all annoyingly the same.

It was always zerglings and hydralisks. It was always him and Jesse and Lena, standing shoulder to shoulder against the onslaught.

And his damn C-14 gauss rifle never worked.

It fired just fine. It barked out the usual thud and mule-kicked against his combat suit’s shoulder just like it was supposed to. But instead of the 8mm spikes blazing toward the charging monsters at hypersonic speeds, they just blooped out in a pathetic little arc that nose-dived them into the dirt a couple of meters in front of him. He would fire again and again, not accomplishing a damn thing except to make a collection of spikes in the ground. The zerg kept coming, and they were just opening their jaws for lunch when he woke up in a cold sweat.

He never knew what happened to Jesse and Lena. He often wondered if they survived the dream.

Probably not. They hadn’t survived the war. No reason they should survive the dream, either.

Afterward he usually just lay alone in the dark, listening to his heart thudding as he waited to fall asleep again. Sometimes he slipped out of his room in the marines’ new barracks in Augustgrad and took a cup of coffee up to the roof to clear his head in the cold night air.

But today was special. Today was the sixth anniversary of the end of the war, or at least his part of it. Today the nightmare, and the reminder of the sacrifices of Jesse and Lena and all the others, called for something more.

Usually the roof was deserted, because sane people who weren’t on night duty were in bed at this hour. Tonight, though, someone else was already topside when Whist arrived. The man was short and thin and hunched over a little, leaning his elbows on the low parapet and gazing toward the outskirts of the city. “About time,” he called as Whist stepped out of the stairway.

Hastily, Whist lowered the bottle he’d liberated from the Noncommissioned Officers’ Club, hiding it behind his leg. Hard liquor wasn’t supposed to be consumed outside the club’s controlled environment. “Excuse me?” he called back.

The other man half turned, and in the reflected light from the central part of the city behind him Whist could see the all-too-familiar fusion of physical youth and crushing psychological age. A war vet, for sure. “Sorry,” the kid said. “I thought you were someone else.” He beckoned. “Come on—join the crowd. I see you brought the refreshments.”

Whist wrinkled his nose. So much for keeping the bottle hidden. For a second he thought about turning around and making a run for it before he could be identified, then decided he really didn’t give a damn. “You’ve got a whacked idea of good places to meet people,” he commented, starting across the uneven roofing material.

“I’m here for the view, not the ambience,” the other said, gesturing over the edge of the roof behind him. “A buddy and I were going to watch a night training session. He must have slept through his alarm.”

Whist frowned past his shoulder. In the distance, above one of the collections of rubble that had once been a suburb, he could see ten muted glows buzzing around like unhappy hornets. “What are those?”

“What do you think?” the kid countered with a snort. “Who else except reapers gets dragged out for training in the middle of the night these days?”

“I thought reapers mostly just kangarooed over hills and off cliffs,” Whist said. “When did they start zooming around in circles?”

“Oh, they used to do that all the time,” the kid said. “When the reaper program started, they were given fully flight-capable jetpacks.”

“Sounds like fun.”

“I’m sure it was,” the kid said. “Trouble was, the new recruits also had a tendency to crash. A lot.”

“I heard the packs used to explode, too.”

“More often than anyone liked,” the kid conceded. “Anyway, after the war ended and they suddenly had enough time for proper training, they started phasing in the old equipment design, keeping some of the standard units the same while putting others in the new, improved packs and taking them back to the original mission statement.”

“Minus the random explosions?”

“So we hope, yes.”

“Well, floating around certainly makes them better targets,” Whist commented, choosing his words carefully. We, the kid had said. So he was a reaper, too? Terrific.

Because if marines were the best of the best, reapers were the worst of the worst. Literally.

Or at least they used to be. During the war, under the reign of Emperor Arcturus Mengsk, the whole corps had supposedly been made up of hardened criminals whose antisocial tendencies couldn’t be brain-panned away, and who had opted for crazy-ass military duty as an alternative to prison or worse. Marines might like the way reapers could swoop down out of nowhere onto a zerg attack front, but no one really trusted them.

The new emperor, Arcturus’s son, Valerian, was purportedly changing all that. Personally, Whist would believe it when he saw it.

“Spoken like someone who’s been one of those targets.” The kid offered his hand. “Lieutenant Dennis Halkman, 122nd Reapers.”

“Yes, sir,” Whist said, stiffening to attention and throwing a salute. A reaper and an officer. This just got better and better.

And if Halkman had been in the 122nd, he’d almost certainly been in the war. Possibly for years.

Which made him a definite anomaly. Typical service lifetime for a reaper was six months. “Sergeant Foster Cray, 934th Marines,” Whist continued, identifying himself.

“Nice to meet you, Sergeant,” the kid said, making no effort to lower his hand or return the salute. “And I should have mentioned that’s former lieutenant. I’ve been rotated into the reserves, and you probably hate officers anyway, so let’s skip the sirs and saluting, okay? And call me Dizz.”

“Yes, sir,” Whist said, frowning. Definitely not the kind of officer interaction he was used to.

Of course, Dizz would have an entire pre-reaper criminal skill set tucked away. Maybe this folksy, aw-shucks approach to new people was something he’d developed to put them at their ease. Maybe he’d been a con man? “And you can call me Whist,” he added, taking Dizz’s hand and shaking it. Dizz had a good, strong grip, the kind that dripped confidence and trustworthiness. Definitely would fit a con man persona.

Then again, it would fit a lot of other criminal types, too, up to and including serial murderers.

Did the reapers accept serial murderers?

“Much better,” Dizz said approvingly, a frown creasing his forehead. He was probably wondering if Whist was speculating about his past sins, a conversation Whist had no intention of getting into. Certainly not on a deserted rooftop when he wasn’t even wearing his sidearm.

So, okay. The minute Dizz started steering the conversation that direction, Whist would make an excuse and head back to his quarters—

“The 934th, you say,” Dizz continued. “Were you the unit sent to clean the zerg out of the Northwoods Forest on New Sydney?”

Whist blinked, disengaging his brain from his mental gymnastics. The Northwoods Forest . . . “We were there, yeah,” he confirmed. “You were the reaper unit, right?”

“Oh, yeah, that was us,” Dizz said, grinning suddenly. “So I’m guessing you had a front-row seat when Boff brushed one of the trees, bounced sideways, and nearly cannonballed into one of your guys?”

Whist snorted. “Front-row seat, hell,” he said. There were few enough reasons to smile in battle, but that incident had been one such rare gem. “I was maybe three marines to his left when your boy started his pinwheel act. For a second I thought he was coming straight at me.”

“The way he was flying, probably everyone in the unit thought that,” Dizz said. “I remember being impressed as hell that none of you hit the dirt or even flinched.”

“Trust me, we were flinching inside,” Whist said. “Just wasn’t time to actually do anything.”

“Except swear,” Dizz said. “That marine he tried to flatten—what was his name again?”

“Grounder.”

“Right. I think Grounder swore for three minutes straight without ever repeating himself.”

“I don’t doubt it,” Whist said. “I was too busy with a pair of zerglings right after that to pay much attention. But if you wanted an applied history of terran vulgar language, Grounder was your man. Never knew anyone with that depth of vocabulary.”

“Well, he sure impressed us,” Dizz said. “Though probably less about the language than about the fact he kept Boff speechless that long.”

“I think he got in a sorry, mate once when Grounder stopped for breath,” Whist offered. “But that was about it.”

“Made for an interesting day, all right,” Dizz said. “That, plus the fact we won.”

Whist hissed between his teeth, the brief glow of humor from that day fading away into the rest of the bad memories. Yes, they’d won. But at a hell of a cost. “Yeah,” he said. “What happened to Boff? Did he make it?”

“He made it through that particular battle, anyway,” Dizz said. “He was transferred right afterward, and I never heard what happened to him. How about Grounder?”

“He lasted three more battles,” Whist said, looking away. “Bought it in the fourth.”

“Oh. Sorry.”

“Yeah,” Whist said. “Not like he was the only one.”

“Not by a long shot,” Dizz said grimly. “How do you think I got promoted to lieutenant this young?”

“Usually it’s for ability or courage.”

“Maybe that’s how it is with the marines,” Dizz said. “With reapers, it’s for whoever lives the longest. Sort of a reverse consolation prize.” He sighed. “Actually, I kind of hope Boff didn’t make it. The guy was a three-time murderer. Hell of a debt to society to have to pay off.”

“Yeah,” Whist said through suddenly stiff lips. For a minute there he’d forgotten who he was talking to. “I suppose that kind of background might come in handy when you’re shooting at zerg.”

“Not as much as you’d think,” Dizz said, turning to look over his shoulder at the reaper exercise still going on in the distance. “That’s why they’re trying to bring in a whole new crop of kinder and gentler . . . damn.”

“What?” Whist asked, focusing on the floating lights. Nothing seemed different.

“They’re greening,” Dizz bit out. “Damn stupid—you got your comm?”

“Yeah,” Whist said, popping it off his belt and holding it out.

“You want Reaper Sergeant Stilson Blumquist,” Dizz said, making no move to take the device. “When he comes on, tell him his two southern flankers are greening.”

“Okay,” Whist said, punching for the base comm nexus and wondering what the hell greening was. The computer responded, and he fed in Blumquist’s name. “Shouldn’t you be the one to tell—?”

“Sergeant Blumquist,” a terse voice snapped from the comm. “Who the hell is this?”

Again, Whist started to offer Dizz the comm. Again, Dizz waved it away. “I’ve been instructed to inform you that your two southern flankers are greening,” Whist said.

“Really,” Blumquist said. “And you’d know this how?”

“Because I can see them,” Whist growled. “Just fix it, okay?”

He keyed off. “What the hell is greening?” he asked Dizz.

“Jealousy or envy,” Dizz said, still focused on the distant lights. “In this case, a pair of hotdoggers trying to outdo each other with fancy and stupid maneuvers. Oh, and here they come.”

Whist felt his eyes widen. “Here they come?”

“At least Blumquist knows how to do a needle search,” Dizz commented. “You told him you could see him, and he pinpointed you. So not a complete incompetent.”

“Good to know,” Whist ground out. The lights were definitely on the move now, and definitely moving in their direction. “Should we, uh, make ourselves scarce?”

“Well, I should,” Dizz said, brushing past Whist. “Oh, and I’ll take this,” he added, plucking the bottle deftly from Whist’s hand.

Very deftly, in fact. Did that imply the man had been a pickpocket?

“Don’t worry—you’ll be fine,” Dizz added over his shoulder as he strode swiftly toward the door. “Just tell him he can’t talk to you that way.”

Whist stared at the kid’s back as he reached the door, his muscles tensed in fight-or-flight knots. Whatever was going on here, it had zero to do with him. The smart move would be to follow Dizz into the building, return to his bunk, and forget all this had happened.

But for the second time that evening, he suddenly decided he didn’t give a damn. He’d done nothing wrong—for a change—and there was no way in the world he was going to run. And sidearm or no sidearm, if a bunch of wannabe reapers felt like making trouble, he would show them the marine definition of the word.

Ten seconds later they arrived.

Their technique was a little chaotic, he noted as they dropped out of the sky around him. Their timing was off, and a good half of them couldn’t even stick their landings. But the encirclement itself was competent enough, and a lot of the sloppiness was probably just basic inexperience.

There was only one of the group who showed as even halfway competent. Whist made sure he was facing that one when he pounded onto the roof. “Sergeant Blumquist,” he greeted the reaper. “Nice night for a flight.”

“Can it, fekk-head,” Blumquist spat, taking a long stride forward.

Co-op. Written edition
By Rusty
I loved the pacing, there is no beating around the bush. It was really nice to see what's going on in the heads of some characters, such as Emperor Valerian, which really helps to understand what they are, makes them lovable and believable.

On the other hand, I was expecting some significant lore revelations. I just have a strong feeling that the state of Koprulu sector stays at the point it reached in the Legacy of the Void epilogue. Those who played the game, to give you a better understanding of what I am saying, imagine a co-op mission where you have to take out a certain bunch of unique units. You're given minimal information about the unit that is just enough to justify your mission. You are happy and shooting zergs is a lot of fun. Now give that whole thing a tiny bit more juice and you'll get Starcraft: Evolution. Now that I think of it, Nova Covert Ops is probably a better analogy.

All in all, the relationship between characters eclipse any flaw that this book might have.

Review
...a tasty, loving rendition of favorite Indian foods. The food guidelines and explanations of food's healing properties are indispensable. --Rebecca Withers, Yoga International, Sept. 1998 --Rebecca Withers, Yoga International, Sept. 1998

From the Author
During and after my internship, I worked as a house physician in the departments of medicine, surgery, gynecology and pediatrics at the Ayurvedic Hospital in Pune. At that time I observed repeatedly how correct diet, combined with proper herbal medicine and lifestyle, can play a vital role in healing. I became increasingly aware that illness provides an "invitation" to change one’s habitual patterns.

As my awareness grew about the role of food as medicine, I observed that many health problems seemed intertwined with the stresses of daily life. These include worries about one’s job or money, tension and even the stress created by eating the wrong kinds of food and improper food combining. In the last twenty years I have seen many problems, sometimes culminating in serious illness, that were the result of poor food choices and ignorance of the art of proper cooking for oneself and for the family.

In this book you will find simple, practical approaches to food and specific recipes from the Ayurvedic art of cooking to help restore the body’s healthful balance. Though there is much helpful information within these covers, this book is not proposed as a treatment plan for any disease. This, of course, you must obtain from your own doctor.

I met my wife Usha at the Ayurvedic Hospital in Pune where she was a student of Ayurvedic nursing. After we were married, Usha began using her knowledge and love of Ayurveda as her guiding light in preparing our meals. She always brings great love and respect to every stage of food preparation, and she cooks each meal with all of her heart.

My wish is that you will discover in these pages a creative program for better health for yourself and your family. These recipes and healing ways are meant to enter your life as a natural method of healing without any side effects or reactions. Enjoy your Ayurvedic cooking for health, happiness and the healing of family and friends.

God bless you with love and light.

Ayurvedic Cookbook a real Gem
By Starr Perry
The Ayurvedic Cookbook for Self Healing is a TRUE Gem! My family and I are new to Ayurvedic cooking & lifestyle, so this has been a real find for us...the recipes are very detailed and specific, advising which are tri-doshic and if the recipe favors a dosha, that is also noted, as well as comments as to whether a different dosha should be limited in their intake of certain spices. The back also has a fabulous listing for all 3 doshas, and breaks down the best/worst foods and ingredients for that body type, so I can find the ingredients that work for all of us and cook with those recipes. The specific recipes also are well written and detailed (I am not a great cook, just average - but my first Ayurvedic meal at home was fantastic, thanks to the work of the Vads!)

I am using the recipes and suggestions in the book daily and recommend it anyone - beginner or experienced Ayurvedic cook, for great recipes and food

really great
By Maryann Kaczmarek
Over the past two years I have been a human sponge when it comes to ayurveda. This book is great. Some of the items I cannot find locally. However, it does make suggestions for most herbs that can be substituted. The receipts are easy to follow and make. The concept of using specific herbs with specific foods is very interesting. I totally enjoy cooking and eating using this method. I would say this is a must for a personal ayurvedic library and a must have for interesting meals for family and guest. As I read through the book I got the feeling I was standing in the kitchen with the author and having a conversation rather than just reading how to directions.

Ayurvedic cooking for self healing
By zack knick
This is the perfect book if you want to learn how to heal yourself through eating. Food is medicine or food is poison. Stop eating poison and learn to eat medicine. Other reviews are saying this is just an average book on ayurvedic cooking. If you want really complex, super tasty dishes that will only satisfy an Americans extravagant taste buds, then they might be right. But this book is all you need to know to cook "balanced" ayurvedic meals that will heal you. I also recommend The complete book of ayurvedic home remedies by Dr. Vasant Lad.
